CatalystOne™ improves Appraisal Dialogue and 360

- CatalystOne™ Appraisal Manager supports a holistic approach to the preparation, execution and follow-up of the Appraisal Dialogue, says Rannveig Strøm, HR Manager in Statskog. The largest landowner in Norway is revising its routines and will soon start using CatalystOne-based solutions. This includes also 360-degree feedback for their managers.

- ‘CatalystOne™ Appraisal Manager definitively confirms whether the objectives for each individual employee were accomplished,’ says Rannveig Strøm. Statskog is currently revising its processes for the Appraisal Dialogue and 360, and along with this change, new IT-solutions will be introduced this autumn.

- ‘As we speak, we are running a series of workshops to discuss and select new processes and content. We do this together with CatalystOne consultants, who provide us with valuable advice and input based on their broad experience. The IT-solutions will then be configured to reflect our process,’ she explains.

IT-solutions from CatalystOne will not only support the Appraisal Dialogue, but CatalystOne™ 360 will, in addition, be used to collect and present 360-degree feedback for managers.

‘The 360 report can be integrated as one of the pages in the Appraisal Dialogue form, functioning as a basis for the discussion on future development. In this way we get more power from the 360-evaluation,’ states the HR Manager as she looks forward to using a more flexible system with improved reporting functionality.

 - ‘By using CatlystOne™ Appraisal Manager we will get quick access to reports and analyses and, as a consequence, agreed objectives will be easy to follow up. In addition CatalystOne™ Appraisal Manager is user-friendly and easy to use, which is important for us.’

Statskog employees are accustomed to evaluations, which previously have been held between employee and manager. She thinks that employee evaluation will be even more objective by using CatalystOne™ Appraisal Manager. She also thinks that the employees will utilize the process more now by defining and accomplishing SMART objectives.

Competence
’Business objectives’ is not the only topic in the new solution. Competence management and personal development will be a keyword as well. Statskog has announced the ambition to be a learning organisation. This fact, combined with downsizing in the years 2007-2009, has put competence development on the top of their agenda.

- ‘We wish to further develop our key competence within our core areas, at the same time as we develop new business areas,’ she says. She expects that CatalystOne™ Appraisal Manager will make it much easier for them to follow up the competency development in Statskog, both on individual and organizational level.

Logistic and operational factors such as long distances and small departmental offices are additional reasons for Statskog to implement solutions from CatalystOne.
